ONE. may have interesting subject lines eventually

[Anyone around the outskirts of Luceti's village today might notice a girl wandering around, avoiding high traffic areas. There are three reasons that they might notice her.

1. Her expression is guarded, but she can't keep out some hints of being very afraid.

2. Half the time she is walking shoulders hunched inward, with nervous steps while she keeps looking out for people seeing her--that is, a walk that is trying so hard to be unnoticed that everyone notices. The other half of the time, she's trying to sneak between trees and behind buildings with such stealth as to be even more obvious than the walk--Solid Snake, she is not.

3. ...She looks a little ridiculous. The outer layer is a dress something like this, only hiked up to not trip her up as she's about five inches shorter than the intended wearer. But she's also wearing a coat over it and a second dress underneath due to the cold, and it's fairly obvious she is since the collars are designed differently. Speaking of that, it's hanging rather loosely on her there, since it was made for someone who is anime!racked. She's kept decent by the fact that she's still wearing the New Feather dress underneath those, which covers up the rest of her to her neck. Also, unlike in the icon, her hair is tucked up inside of an unusual hat. She's probably even in bad footwear for the weather, but it's impossible to tell since the dresses are trailing in the snow. EDIT: ...Also, she probably has hidden her wings under some scarf.

She's trying to not attract attention, but this is not obvious.

...Oh yeah, forgot. She has her journal with her, but she hasn't opened it and she's holding it so that her name is hidden by her body.]

[ooc: Also, because I imagine that any of them would be inclined to get her out of this somewhat odd get-up and she's not likely to trust anyone else, any Ferines threads probably take place after any others.

...This entry is getting the crap editted out of it tonight, but THANK YOU SO MUCH PERSON WHO GAVE ME PAID TIME. I was going to buy some when I had gotten more icons, but I am very grateful to get it as a gift. ♥♥ ...Even if I'm using about two icons so far this post.]

Ah-- [If he knew the person whose room she had been left in, he might be involved in the kidnapping. She tries to keep bluffing, though.] M-m-maybe I just have the same style clothes as her! I-I'm going to grow into them!

[He still makes no aggressive moves, but he's on guard now. He looks her over, from head to toe, and watches as she's trying to keep the two dresses from falling off. His voice is growing more annoyed and impatient rather than angry.]

...I doubt you'll grow that much. Look, just tell me the truth. I'd really rather not have to deal with a thief right now. What happened?

[Normally, she probably would realize that he wasn't nearly as threatening as before. ...But she's not really thinking straight.]

I, uh...I...uh....

[...and she tries to run.]

[Big mistake. Adell's lightning fast and will catch up to her before she gets too far. He'll grab hold of her arm as he passes, then divert her away from her course, to slow her to a stop. He'll raise his voice. He's pretty pissed now.]

Look, I don't even know who the hell you are! But I can't abide stealing from one of my friends!

[...Wait a second. ...He'll lower his voice and eye her carefully.]

...Do you even know where you are right now?

[Sorry, Adell, but she didn't really register most of that, because panic set in.]

G-get away from me!

[...Good, she doesn't get it. He's not really the subtle type, so he'll just simply step in front of her, and take a calm, but firm and stern tone.]

...Calm down. I'm not going to hurt you.

[She's probably going to try to stumble back a little if he lets her, though. However, she's a little less panicked now because of his sudden change in body language.]

Y-yeah, right! You're with them, aren't you?!

[He will lighten his grip to show that he's being honest about not hurting her.]

The Malnosso? Hell no. I'm stuck here just like everyone else.

[...She would be rather tempted to try to break out of his grip if she were a bit braver, but she knows that this would not go over well.]

Stuck here? ...The snow's not that deep!

[His voice is going to return to normal, but with a tone of sympathy in there too.]

...You really have no idea where you are, do you?

[...Well, her cover as just another Orerines is kind of blown by now. And this guy seems decent enough.]

...No.

[Now he'll release her. ...Everything makes sense now.]

...I see. Well, that explains a lot. You're in a place called Luceti. You might find it difficult to believe, but whatever your home is? You're not there anymore. ...Did you notice the wings on your back?

[He'll pull out his journal at this point, and begins flipping through it.]

[Getting released is very good.]

I-I think I figured that part out. [Only not really. She just thinks she did.]

[She's not sure she wants to admit about the wings, but probably the very fact that she's not asking about it implies that she did. She looks rather surprised when he pulls out his journal. She had found her journal and taken it with her, but she had assumed when she saw her name on the cover that it was some kind of experiment log.]

Well... this is going to be a lot to swallow.

But this is what you're dealing with. ...I take it you must've woken up in Charlotte's room, or something?

[She takes the book and begins to read a little. But then she looks back up at him suspiciously. An...apparently atrociously long guide to having been kidnapped? How likely was that? What was this, Being Kidnapped 101? She's pretty sure she already passed that course, and it didn't have a textbook. But if she was reading, she wouldn't be able to be paying as much attention....]

Maybe...anyway, how could I know? [She sounds a bit more guarded now and she's glancing around a bit. He's not trying to set her up for an ambush, is he? ...Even if he seemed to not need one, since he was fine at capturing her on his own.]

Well, considering people who were freshly brought here don't wear clothing that elaborate. And Charlotte's clothes are pretty unique. I suppose you would've had no idea whose room you were in.

...At least you were lucky enough to land in a room. Most people wake up out in the forest. That's where I was when I woke up here a couple months ago.

[He laughs lightly, loosening his stance and shrugging.]

No, I-- [...Hey, how did he know what she had been brought here in?]

I guess so.... [And he said "brought here." So it sounds like he was also kidnapped. But if he had been, how could he laugh like that about it? There was no way. He had to be lying somehow.

In contrast to Adell's loosening stance, Fenimore seems to be getting increasingly uncomfortable. Her grip on his journal is tightening--if her hands weren't a bit pale from the cold already, her knuckles would be whitening.]

[He'll be a little oblivious to her discomfort for now.]

I'm sorry if I scared you earlier. I know I can't be making this any easier for you. My name's Adell.

No, um. My name is Fe--

[waitwaitwait they know her name. It was on that book in the--Charlotte's?--room. She hesitates, trying to think of a good name to throw out. An Orerines name if possible. Why couldn't she remember who Senel hung out with?]

Norma. My name is Norma. [...Smooth.]

About your clothes or belongings, like it says in the guide, there's a few stores in the village square. They usually end up there. But don't worry, there's no money here, so you can go take it back. No worries there.

Once you get them back, you should probably return Charlotte's dresses to her. I doubt she'll be upset if you give them back and explain what happened. She's pretty nice.

[A lack of money doesn't really disturb Fenimore. Her village was probably isolated enough that if they had a monetary system, it probably wasn't the same as the rest of Legendia world. She's been too suspicious to read the guide, but she'll assume it's in there somewhere. She holds his journal back out to him.]

Uh, sure. I'll go do that.

[He'll take it back gently.]

[She feels a bit bad for suspecting him when he's being so nice, but she's not quite ready to trust him yet.] Thanks. I understand. [Well, actually she's not exactly happy at getting chased down, but she's not going to rock the boat while she's still not really sure what's going on.]

[It's really hard to blame her. On both counts. But in response to her question, he'll open up his book, and it'll start talking with whatever voices are on the network at the time.]

Yeah! See, you just open it to the network and you can talk into it to make an entry. Simple. It's a really easy way to communicate.

[The first thing she does when he opens the book is look around for the sources of the voices before she looks at the journal.]
